“Paulchen” stands in honor of Rotarian founder Paul Percy Harris at the intersection of Borg and Amthaus streets, right next to the tourist information center. Harris - a lawyer from Chicago - founded the first "Rotary Club as a place of meeting and friendship" with three friends on February 23, 1905. Today there are over 1.2 million Rotarians who form a worldwide network of selfless service. The Lüdinghausen Rotarian Club currently has over 50 active members. They describe themselves as a “global community of professionals”.
