Shortly before the introduction of the Reformation, the parish of Ittersbach became independent. The village gets its first pastor. After the chaos of war in the 18th century, the old church building fell into disrepair and the community grew. In 1808, under the supervision of the Grand Ducal Master Architect Fischer, a new nave was built in the so-called Weinbrenner style.
In 1827 the tower received its characteristic half-timbered upper floors, from which three bells now call people to prayer and church services.
