The Carnen.Sylva Forest Trail runs in the hinterland of the Opatija Coast. I don't know whether only hiking or cycling is allowed here, but outside of the summer season nobody complained when I was cycling here.
With the Carmen Sylva forest promenade, the city owns a very special example that allows those interested to look deep into the soul of Queen Elizabeth of Romania. Better known by her pseudonym Carmen Sylva. Musician, writer, jack of all trades. It is thanks to her husband Charles I of Romania that the unique promenade exists in its current form.
