At 3,087 feet (941 m), Stob Coire Altruim is the lowest of the four main summits along the Buachaille Etive Mòr's grand ridge. When seen from neighbouring Buachaille Etive Beag, it looks impregnable, thanks to a steep, rocky notch above Coire Altruim. However, the main path bypasses this to the south on its way up to the summit. The views in all directions are spectacular.

Stob Coire Altrium is a Munro Top on the ridge of Buachaille Etive Mòr. It is usually crossed twice while climbing the two Munros, Stob Redg and Stob na Broige.
