Hiking
The small village church in Göhren is visible from afar thanks to its mountain location and its pointed ridge turret. It was consecrated to Saint Catherine and Saint George, about which Bishop Heinrich von Merseburg even issued a charter in 1290.
The church had to be built because the responsible pastor from Zschillen could not always reach his congregation due to the frequent flooding of the Mulde and therefore could not, for example, donate the anointing of the sick for the dying.
