Kalkwerke H. Oetelshofen GmbH was founded in 1900 and is still run as an independent family company in the fourth generation to this day. In 1930 the opening of the quarry (Osterholz pit) begins with the help of steam locomotives. A few years later, the old ring kilns are replaced by more modern shaft kilns.
