The last section of the bank, the Victor Hugo bank, stretches from the swing bridge just behind the Malakoff Passage to the railway bridge. From the Stresemann bank, walkers must first cross the small pedestrian bridge past the cultural center to reach the pier. This is where the Victor Hugo bank begins, often simply referred to as Mainz's winter harbor.

The beer garden at the top of the pier is a popular meeting place for Mainz residents.
