The Hope Church was built in 1858 and was badly damaged by the effects of the Second World War. In 1988 it had to be closed by the building authorities because it had to be repaired afterwards. After renovation, the church was rededicated in 1993. Interestingly, beeswax was used to build the altar.

We were lucky 4 years ago that a phone number was in the showcase and that after 10 minutes a lady came. For almost an hour she dedicatedly told us about the history of the church, how it was saved, and then the idea arose to design the beech wax altar and the altar wall, mixed with pollen. Dozens of attempts were then necessary before the result was convincing.
