The horse fountain in Rotenburg's town hall square is a popular work of art, created in 1985 by the artist Claus Homfeld. The sculpture consists of three life-size horses and a fountain. Children especially enjoy riding the horses or drawing water from the hand pump.

The horse fountain commemorates the former horse trade that gave the square its name.

The square itself is regularly used for events and the weekly market.
