The park is free and you can relax from the turbulent city.

From up here you also have a view of Genoa and the port.

It is particularly beautiful from the back of the waterfall.

Two hectares of green oasis from the 18th century in the heart of the city on the Bastion of Saint John surround the Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art, built in the 19th century on the site of the former neoclassical villa of the Marquis Giancarlo Di Negro. In 1802, this count bought the hill of the demilitarized Bastion of Luccoli and founded a botanical school there, which he financed for six years.

The school later became the site of the Department of Botany at the University of Genoa. Di Negro also created a park here, which he decorated with busts and statues. In 1863, after the Marquis' death in 1857, the city bought the property and restructured it several times. In 1942, during World War II, the building was hit and destroyed by bombs from Entente ships. In 1948, the city financed the new building in its current form. Worth mentioning is the waterfall that Giancarlo Di Negro had created when the bastion of the 16th century walls was demolished. Today the villa is home to the Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art.
