Hiking

The Hurkske, originally mainly a heathland, is an approx. 170 ha. large forest area between Erp and Gemert, which is surrounded by agricultural areas. It consists of coniferous forest and mixed forest. Located in it is the Rauwven, a beautiful fen with somewhat calcareous water. A beautiful palette of amphibian and plant species can be found in the fen and its immediate surroundings. The rare swamp deer hay grows on the banks and the viviparous lizard can be encountered in bare, sunlit spots.
