Hiking
Guiseppe Garibaldi (1807-1882) is the hero of the Italian unification movement in the 19th century. When he was not in exile or on military expeditions, he spent a large part of his life on the island of Caprera, where his house is preserved and can be visited. Streets and squares are named after him in virtually every Italian municipality, including Maddalena, where the main shopping street in the old town bears his name.
