We walked the trail on August 4, 2024. The valley path down by the Schandtauber from the Mittelmühle to the Hammerschmiede is very difficult to walk on, there are lots of fallen trees and destroyed, barely recognizable paths. Actually just wild - no longer romantic.

On this section, which also corresponds to a DVV hiking trail, the small path leads through the wild and romantic Schandtaubertal. The path is narrow, so you have to give way to oncoming traffic. In wet weather you should wear good shoes and be sure-footed, as the ground and the stony subsoil can be very slippery at times. About halfway there is a beautiful view of Postal.
