The Marburg district of Weidenhausen is characterized by a narrow cobbled street and many beautiful half-timbered houses that are built close together. When I was young, about 60 years ago, I lived on the Zahlbach and had to walk through Weidenhausen on the way to the Martin Luther School on the banks of the Lahn. At that time there were still many shops (bakers, at least 2 butcher shops, a greengrocer and several pubs). Today there are still a few pubs, a bike shop, a coffee roaster and a medical supply store. Nevertheless, it is worth walking or cycling along the narrow street and taking a look at the backyards to the right and left. There is also a lot to see around the district, from boat rentals at the Weidenhäuser Bridge to Northampton Park. The spot from where you can see Marburg Castle through the narrow alley in the background is particularly impressive.
