Very worth seeing castle complex on the north-east side of the town of Estavayer. The Château de Chenaux was built in the late 13th century. built by a branch of the lords of Estavayer, who had become wealthy in the service of the English king. Around the middle of the 15th century. the castle was further strengthened under Savoyard rule before being conquered by Bern and Friborg in 1475 and from the 16th century. was used as a bailiff's seat (source: burgenwelt.org/schweiz/chenaux/object.php).
