Molard Tower

Molard Tower, Pl. du Molard, Genève
The dominant feature of the Place du Molard is the Molard Tower, built in 1591 and open to the public.
The tower has been rebuilt several times, the last renovation taking place in 1906-1907. In 1903-1905 and 1907-1908 Lenin lived in Geneva, which was the period when his conception of the revolutionary party matured. Since Geneva is a city of refugees and Lenin was one of them - he came to Geneva after being imprisoned for 3 years in Siberia - the relief with the imprint of Lenin's head was placed on the Molard Tower in 1920, which reads: GENEVA CITÉ DE REFUGE.
