Fountain of Neptune (Fontana del Nettuno), Piazza della Signoria

The Fountain of Neptune was commissioned by Cosimo I de' Medici in 1559 to celebrate the marriage of Francesco de' Medici I to the Grand Duchess Joanna of Austria.

The Neptune fountain in Piazza Grande in Bologna, Italy is not just a ordinary fountain, it's a work of art! not only does it provide a refreshing mist on hot summer days, but it also features a statue of the Roman god of the sea, Neptune, with a trident in one hand and a fish tail in the other.
