The 14 meter high blue euro symbol with the 12 yellow stars was erected in 2001 to mark the introduction of the euro in front of what was then the headquarters of the ECB. The artist is Ottmar Hörl. The Frankfurt Euro, the well-known sculpture in front of the former European Central Bank (ECB) on Willy-Brandt-Platz, is said to cost 200,000 euros annually.
