The sewage fields in Appelhülsen are now a nature reserve. Many migratory birds find one of the increasingly rare resting places on their way here. The best view of the water surfaces can be had from the bird watching hut. People of all ages can also follow the bird footprints at the interactive station and find out which of the guests passing through here live on a large scale and which on a small scale. A QR code will soon also be able to access the bird calls of the birds in the sewage fields. Behind the sewage fields you can see the tower of the former manor Große Schonebeck. The house is now privately owned and cannot be visited.
The SteverLandRoute is the family cycle route in Münsterland: Here, display boards for adults and information boards especially for children (!) provide information about the great project.
