5-storey residential tower, the basement of which was built around 1450 under cathedral custodian Otto von Rinegg. Upper floor around 1580. The facade painting, the most important of this period in Constance, dates from this period.

Habitable towers were built in the Middle Ages as protection against enemy attacks.
It is probably the oldest high-rise building from the late Middle Ages and is a very good example of the Gothic style with its pointed-arched upper window.
