From this vantage point, one of South Limburg's most beautiful panoramas unfolds: the Geul Valley with its meandering river, green meadows, and the imposing Valkenburg railway viaduct, which spans the valley rim like an arched bridge. The view unites everything that makes the hilly landscape so recognizable: rolling hills, water, history, and a touch of romance.

The stone railway viaduct was built in the 19th century as part of the Maastricht–Heerlen railway line and is considered one of the oldest railway bridges in the Netherlands. Its stately arches contrast beautifully with the gentle landscape of the Geul Valley. In the distance, you can hear the soft murmur of the river and the whistle of a passing train… a sound that perfectly captures the atmosphere of this timeless landscape.
