This monumental corn mill has been mentioned in the records since the twelfth century. A gable stone in the eastern wall shows that the outbuildings were renovated in 1643 and in 1768 the mill building and the house were extensively renovated.

Even the names of the miller couple Quaedvlieg-Douven are chiseled in the keystone above the door. The mill wheel can be admired from the outside from a small bridge over the Geul that is located on the side of the mill.
