Neupfarrplatz was built at the beginning of the 16th century on the area of the former Jewish quarter. In 1519, the Jews were exterminated and the synagogue was demolished. In the 1990s, remains of their foundations were found during construction. The Israeli artist Dani Karavan created the current memorial site, which sketches the ground plan of the former synagogue in a sculptural manner.
