Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)

Location: Llantarnam, South Wales, Wales, United Kingdom
This cycle path follows the old Monmouthshire Canal, which was opened in 1796 and was originally about 20 kilometres long. With the help of 42 locks, 136 metres in height were conquered. This section has been superbly restored and you can admire the many locks that are in good condition. Instead of barge-load of coal, today only ducks and other waterbirds swim on the quiet water, along which you can cycle in peace and without cars along the paved cycle path.
