Empress Elisabeth of Austria and Queen of Hungary, also known as Sissi, spent a holiday at the Grand Hotel Carezza in August 1897. To recharge her batteries, she used to take long walks in the surrounding area and one of her favourites was this walk. In her honour, this route was named “Elisabeth Walk”.
