The former Benedictine abbey of Banz Monastery is clearly visible on the Banzberg high above the Main Valley in Upper Franconia.
Banz Monastery was built by Leonhard and Johann Dientzenhofer and other well-known architects. The former Benedictine monastery now serves as an educational facility for the Hanns Seidel Foundation and as the backdrop for the "Songs on Banz". The monastery and the museum can be visited on a guided tour. The monastery church is also well worth seeing. The concerts of the Banz Organ Summer in the abbey church are popular.

Banz Monastery on one side of the Main Valley and the Rococo Church of the Fourteen Holy Helpers on the other. Both can be seen well from the Staffelberg and a visit to these historic buildings is also worthwhile.

From almost everywhere here in Gottesgarten am Obermain - you have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of Banz Monastery, the Fourteen Saints or the Staffelberg. Sometimes in the sunshine, sometimes in the fog, always a great picture. It's not called "God's Garden on the Obermain" for nothing.
