Eguisheim Historic Village Center

The historic village centre of Eguisheim is an architectural gem that has preserved its medieval character exceptionally well. The centre is built in concentric circles around the remains of the former castle of the Counts of Eguisheim, which gives the village its unique, almost spiral-shaped structure. Along the cobbled streets are colourful half-timbered houses with flower boxes, wrought iron signs and graceful facades that create a postcard-worthy setting in every season.
At the centre is the Place du Château Saint-Léon, with its fountain, the chapel dedicated to Pope Leo IX and cosy terraces. In the centre you will also find small wine cellars, artisan shops and historical details such as old city gates and facade stones.
