Starting today, the “Bootshaus – Ardeas Seenwelt” offers food and drinks about a five-minute walk from the dam. There is also a viewing platform on the roof of the bistro, a toilet facility, a water playground and a jetty. As soon as the lake is filled with enough water again, the latter can be used for stand-up paddling with pedal boats, rowing boats or swimming boards.

The boathouse was officially opened on Tuesday afternoon. District Administrator Thorsten Stolz (SPD) described the boathouse as the "last milestone in modernization". The aim of the project, which costs around 1.2 million euros, is to offer attractive recreational and educational opportunities around the Kinzig reservoir and to create an attractive rest stop with the gastronomic offer.

In addition to classics such as French fries, the kiosk also offers cakes, salads and ice cream. The focus is on dishes from regional producers.
