MARBECK. Presumably on Monday evening, previously unknown people smeared the Klosterhook refuge in Marbeck and then tried to set the hut on fire. The Marbeck Heimatverein built the hut on Steenkuhlenweg with financial support from the district government and only opened it last August.
"12,000 euros in funding and over a hundred hours of voluntary work went into it," says the association's chairman Thomas Wolf. That's why the damage hurts particularly: "I almost cried."
