The city is home to one of the largest wine barrels in Europe, "La grande botte di Gubbio".
The barrel intended for the wine of the Gubbio canons was made around 1500 and contained the volume of 387 small barrels. It is built entirely of oak and has no iron tires. The giant barrel was last filled in November 1928. It is located in the Palazzo dei Canonici of Gubbio Cathedral.
