Gubbio

Gubbio, a charming town of 30,401 inhabitants in the province of Perugia, Umbria, is located in the extreme east of the region, bordering Pesaro-Urbino in the Marche. Characterized by a mountainous and hilly landscape, Gubbio develops on the slopes of Mount Ingino, crossed by the Camignano and Cavarello streams. It was in the Middle Ages that the city reached its maximum importance, taking on the appearance it still retains today. The beauty of this city can be admired from Piazza Grande, or Piazza della Signoria, a real hanging square overlooking the roofs of the city below.

The territory of the municipality of Gubbio is the largest in the region and the town boasts numerous places of interest such as the cathedral, the various palaces and the Roman theater from the 1st century BC.
