The nature reserve Laubwald am Hasselbachgraben is in the municipality of Simmerath, east of Roetgen and north of Lammersdorf on the east side of the state road 12.

This area has numerous deciduous forest stands, about a third red beech and a third spruce. The total stocks are of different ages. Lying and standing dead wood shows the near-natural forest. The Hasselbach rises above the Simonsbrander Weg and flows through the area with spring streams in natural structures.
