Franz Dümichen was Mayor of Werder (Havel) from 1884 until his death in 1917. Among other things, he arranged for the expansion of the roads, the commissioning of the horse-drawn tram and the construction of the waterworks on Lake Plessower, which is so important for the irrigation of the orchards. The very young retired Rittmeister shaped the city of flowers just by the length of his term in office - no mayor was in office and dignity in Werder any longer.
