The Drongelens, or Drongels Canal, as it is popularly known, was dug between 1907 and 1911 to prevent flooding in the lowlands around 's-Hertogenbosch and in the polders west of the city. The canal is 19 km long.
A beautiful cycle path runs along the canal on one side and there is a hiking trail on the other side.
