-The shooting-place in the vunettes of Vught

On 20 December 1947, this memorial was inaugurated by the Dutch Princess Juliana as a national monument.

Here at the shooting-place

26 limestone panels were lined up in a wall.

On these boards were listed 124 towns and villages - from Alkmaar to Zwolle-.

Below the 26 limestone tiles on a sandstone base, a quote from the Dutch national anthem was immortalized:

I remain faithful to the fatherland

to the death <

Behind the memorial, stands out

big cross of oak trunks

to the sky.

And so that nothing really falls into oblivion from this inglorious time, the names of all those shot on this place, "under the names of towns and cities", were carved here forever in stone ...
