Unfortunately you can't visit the castle itself, but you can visit the car museum (by appointment) and the open-air theater (during events in summer).
In 1976, the family of the architect Ulrich Ahlert acquired the property and has since had the main house extensively restored and the outer bailey largely rebuilt. The Ahlert family now runs a car museum here, which can be visited by groups by prior telephone appointment (Tel.: 02233 / 32943).
The oldest part of the baroque complex is the southwest wing facing the park with a curved stepped gable. The higher wing facing the castle courtyard was added to the older southwest wing in 1632 by the then new owner, Johann von Cöllen, according to a date in the gable top.
In 1982, a small stage was set up in the northeastern half-timbered barn, which is used for open-air theater performances and concerts in the summer. To the southwest of the castle, separated from it only by a moat, was the Gleueler Fronhof, of which the gatehouse from the 17th century still stands on Bachemer Straße.
