Glessener, Wiedenfelder and Vollrather Höhe are all heaps that were raised from overburden from opencast mines. These high plateaus are used for agriculture, their steep slopes have been forested for stabilization.
By the way, they are obviously serious about blocking the wooden bridge over the tracks to Vollrather Höhe - you have to drive around.
Mrs. Kösling lives in "half the house in Grevenbroich". A good two weeks ago, the former semi-detached house was separated precisely at the gable.
Now a new house is being built next to Kösling's home. "There was a structural engineer here, the building authority approved it," says the Grevenbroich woman. Three massive wooden beams support the wall of their half of the house. "I hope that lasts." (RP online).
Ordinary tour to Allrath. Then first of all less beautiful, but home routes chosen (e.g. bike path on the main road, brr). It was raining all the way through (mudguard and rain jacket are at home here ...) and didn't feel like walking the country lanes to the north.
Well, from Stommeln I grooved myself back in - then brought it to an end in a good mood.
Can't like your tours (support is on) -
alternatively, greetings to all of you!

Along the Rhine to the mouth of the Sieg.
Short gravel deposits and lots of walkers (the Rhine is not an insider tip😆),
but there were also beautiful alluvial forests.
I particularly liked the Rheidter Werthchen, a peninsula on an oxbow lake of the Rhine.
Went around between Eschmar and Sieglar to find the supermarket - otherwise it was fun.

Gentle hills and valleys on the edge of the Eifel,
garnished with a couple of castles😀.
Schievelsberg is a nature reserve between Ülpenich and Linzenich.
The Muldenauer Bachtal is a nice alternative to the Breidel - albeit a bit bumpy in places.
What else: Has anyone got a like from me in the last 24 hours? Can click on the heart, but I think that doesn't work ... disappears directly and doesn't register🤨.
Will be settled again, whether by itself or through the support. Just want to point out that I have by no means lost interest in your tours!

The district of Heinsberg (the westernmost in Germany) became known nationwide through the first German Covid cases.
The district deserves this for its floodplain landscapes, primeval forests, Myhler Switzerland, countless ponds and interesting castles.
Today I tried a few new ways. Not all of them worked equally well - but overall a nice lap.
The last 100 km, however, only with the front brake - the rear brake cable had become independent.

Sunday tour means: Driving here and there roads where I usually take farm roads - but at some point I had enough of roads again ...
The car-free wooden path west of Dormagen is easy to drive. And broad - therefore also quite acceptable on weekends.
The dirt roads between Nettesheim and Sinsteden were the most fun for me, and Anstel Castle was also beautiful.
Warning: The tour leads through the macabre ChemPark Dormagen (I give it to myself once a year) - it really only works on Sundays!

Nice tour through Siebengebirge and Pleiser Hügelland.
It was cool in the morning - so I could drive along the Rhine.
If you can expect strollers, you should rather choose routes in the hinterland (there are some alternatives marked as highlights).
Behind Koenigswinter it got rough. The Drachenfels is one of Germany's most popular excursion destinations - if you can set it up, you shouldn't run into the ruins at the weekend. You have to watch out for hikers on the winding descent.
      And on to the Petersberg:
The hotel on the summit was used as the government guest house in Bonn.
Then to the Pleiser hill country with its forests, fields, beautiful villages, stream valleys and, well, hills ... always worth a trip😀.

A route for cyclists and skaters was created from the former belt route on which overburden from the Hambach opencast mine had been transported to backfill the former Bergheim opencast mine.
It leads from somewhere in nowhere (on the field) to the end of the world (northern edge of the Hambach opencast mine).
I don't comment on the name "Terra Nova" - the track deserves the name "Speedway" though:
5m wide and great asphalt - the NRW youth held their time trial championships here.

You don't ride such long climbs in the Bergisches Land.
However, short, sometimes crisp inclines are easy to find - even if you really don't need one at the moment ...
Want to drive around the Bevertalsperre (apex of the tour) - is not currently possible (construction site).
But there are other roads too! 😉

Nice tour- which is not a feat in this great area.Lucky with the weather (strange clouds> strange precipitation):
By the time I realized whether I was driving through snow, hail or sleet, the sun often came out again and rain showers were usually a nose's length ahead of me😃.
The special vegetation on the limestone soils and the rather crazy clouds were highlights of the trip.

Noticed on the way: Today I don't really feel like doing the usual forest and meadow tour that I had tracked.
Decided to check out a couple of lost places. (The decision took a while - while I cycled uninspired from Paffendorf to Elsdorf).
If you like this rather special tour, turn south to Thorr in Paffendorf!
