At almost 500m, the Pflugberg is the highest mountain in the Voreifel. When I'm there the weather always goes crazy, but it was a very nice tour! 😀

Over long distances, black clouds and bright sunshine alternated above me every 10 minutes. I didn't get that terribly wet, and I always dried off quickly

Pleasantly cool air on Saturday evening in the Rhein-Erft district made the round a carefree pleasure. 😀

The Pleiser Hügelland lies between the Siebengebirge, Bonn and Sieg. Idyllic valleys such as the Pleisbach and Hanfbach, gentle hills and great views characterize the Pleiser Ländchen.

It was warm - I took a lot of breaks in the shade. There were enough beautiful spots that invite you to do so on the tour. 😀

Since the weather app had more or less announced the end of the world on the way, I decided at the Worringer Bruch to drive home as quickly as possible.

The end of the world that was announced for 2:00 p.m. didn't materialize - but at least that's how I got back to a sporting average. 😄

The Grevenbroich wind test field is located on the Neuratherhöhe. Here you can cycle on good asphalt between fields and wind turbines - but wind is to be expected. 😉

At the Neurath power plant you can drive along small farm roads.

In terms of its gross electrical output of 4,400 megawatts, it is the largest

It was always nice where there were far-reaching views across meadows and pastures.

It was nice to drive past idyllic farmsteads and hamlets.

It was nice to look around the Bergisches Dom for a little longer.

Some descents and creek valleys were nice.

It was also nice to drive through shady deciduous forests

A very special type of vegetation thrives on the chalky soil in the "Eschweiler Tal und Kalkkuppen" nature reserve and gives the landscape its unique appearance.

The Bruder Klaus Feldkapelle, the café and the bistro in Nöthen are all closed on Mondays. So another day of the week would have been a good

From Cologne to the Rhein-Erft-Kreis, further through the Mönchengladbach and Heinsberg districts and the Rhein-Kreis-Neuss.

I saw a lot of rapeseed today, a lot of candidates for the state elections on posters and a lot of flat land - but also a few rolling hills (near Wallrath).

The first highlight was a meatball with Jägersoße in the port restaurant Niehl. It was nice again on the Rhine and on the Worringer Bruch. I like to drive the wooden path through the Tannenbusch, and the sandy path through the Chorbusch is a great forest route.

Before and after these enjoyable sections

Whatever one may think of the fact that this bicycle route has a Latin-English name: It is excellent to ride on the former overburden conveyor route of the Bergheim and Hambach opencast mines.
