The Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal is a stunning waterway meandering through the Brecon Beacons National Park for 35 miles (56 km). Here, it flows through Llangynidr with a series of locks, only adding to its picturesque nature. You can follow the canal along its towpath for as long as you like.

Llangynidr is one of the most scenic points on the Monmouth and Brecon Canal. There are five of the six locks that currently exist on the navigable part of the entire canal here. These locks raise the canal a total of 55 feet towards Brecon. Apart from this marvel of Victorian engineering, this is simply a super nice scenic area.
