Not only the asphalt road leads to the monastery, which is high up on the mountain, but also a simple pilgrimage route through the valley from Istron. It is marked with a red dot. At the end the path leads up to the cloister on the rock. Every year the faithful of the area make their procession to the Assumption of Mary.

The rock church inside the monastery can be unlocked by one of the friendly monks. It is used for prayer apart from the monks and passing hikers on the Greek Orthodox holidays. The highlight here is the Assumption of Mary with the large procession from Istron. The Felsenkirche also has a small room with a baptismal font. During one of our visits to the monastery, we were lucky enough to be able to accidentally attend a baptism of two babies.
