With the playful bridge houses on both sides of the water, the Abbey Bridge is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful bridges in Berlin.
Incidentally, she has the name of the old abbey restaurant, which was on the island of the youth. The abbey was designed as a monastery ruin and burned down completely before completion of the bridge. Her name has remained until today.

Background:
Katarina Witt received the BLAUE HERZ for child friendliness on the occasion of the World Children's Day on September 17, 2006. This BLAUE-HERZEN-FLIESE sponsored by the Park Center Treptow was then next to those of Herman van Veen, Rolf Zuckowski, Franz Beckenbauer and the Sandmännchen and others at the BRÜCKE THE HEART in Berlin - Treptow. Tiles from the Treptow - Köpenick district office have been installed on the bridge ramp of the Abbey Bridge, which connects Treptower Park with the Insel der Jugend, based on the example of the Walk Of Fame since 2005. Each and every one puts names of people and institutions in the public eye for their strong commitment.
