Even though the house boasts some refinements, I wouldn't want to move in. While Haus Schminke is described as one of the world's most important residential buildings of "classical modernism" and an architectural icon, we weren't exactly captivated by the noodle steamer. After visiting Haus Hohe Pappeln in Weimar and Villa Esche in Chemnitz, we had hoped for a similar sense of enthusiasm. Nevertheless, the history of Haus Schminke and its residents is very interesting. It's definitely worth exploring. We also found the garden very appealing and inviting.
