City exploration in Karakol. Saw some old houses from the Tsarist era (e.g. the current tourist information office), but also from the times when Kyrgyzstan belonged to the Soviet Union. And of course, again many construction sites in Chinese hands.

The village was more or less abandoned years ago when coal mining was given up. Now a ski resort is to be built here at an altitude of 2,200 m. Accordingly, there are many construction sites. Used the time and took a short round to the Chernobyl memorial. As is usual in post-Soviet cities, there are many monuments and very well-visited and maintained parks. A nice atmosphere in a very dusty world. Here in the south it is dry and hot.
