"People in the Middle Ages believed that special forces were at work on this square and told of strange experiences. The square in front of the old fountain is also said to have been used for social gatherings. There is a story about Count von Eberstein, who fell down from the road here supposed to be. He claimed that a ghost had appeared to him. It made him shy from the horse and threw him off. But maybe he had been sitting in the inn for too long before and could no longer keep himself on the horse properly?"
