Wallace Fountains are public drinking fountains named after, financed by and roughly designed by Sir Richard Wallace. The final design and sculpture is by Wallace's friend Charles-Auguste Lebourg. They are large cast-iron sculptures scattered throughout the city of Paris, France, mainly along the most-frequented sidewalks.

These fountains, funded by Sir Richard Wallace in the 19th century, are cast iron works of art that provide drinking water to passersby. They have become iconic symbols of urban architecture and philanthropy.

In 1872, the renowned English philanthropist Richard Wallace donated fountains to the city of Paris, aiming to provide free access to drinking water for as many people as possible. He designed a cast-iron model featuring four female figures, known as caryatids, which was subsequently produced in various sizes.
In Lille, the installation of Wallace fountains is documented as early as 1889. Acquired through the Hallez-Duhamel bequest of 1924 from the Val d’Osne construction workshops (Haute-Marne), the fountain bears the original signature of the sculptor Charles-Auguste Lebourg.
Created thanks to this bequest, the Wallace fountain, formerly located in Place de Béthune, is one of the oldest outside of Paris and the last remaining one in Lille.
