Wallace Fountains are public drinking fountains named after, financed by and roughly designed by Sir Richard Wallace. The final design and sculpture is by Wallace's friend Charles-Auguste Lebourg. They are large cast-iron sculptures scattered throughout the city of Paris, France, mainly along the most-frequented sidewalks.

These fountains, funded by Sir Richard Wallace in the 19th century, are cast iron works of art that provide drinking water to passersby. They have become iconic symbols of urban architecture and philanthropy.

In 1872, the famous English philanthropist Richard Wallace donated fountains to the city of Paris, to allow as many people as possible to have free access to drinking water. He designed a cast iron model, composed of 4 female representations, called caryatids, which was later produced in different sizes.

In Lille, the installation of Wallace fountains is attested from 1889. Acquired thanks to the Hallez-Duhamel bequest of 1924 from the Val d'Osne construction workshops (Haute-Marne), the fountain bears the original signature of the sculptor Charles-Auguste Lebourg.

Designed thanks to this bequest, the Wallace fountain, previously located on Place de Béthune, is one of the oldest located outside Paris and the last preserved in Lille.
