Cross-shaped tower of 25 meters high with a belvedere at the top. Surrounding the base is a group of sculptures designed by Enrique Cejas Zaldívar and Alonso Reyes, consisting of four sculptural pieces: the allegory of the Homeland holding the Fallen; a winged woman representing Victory and alluding to those maritime expeditions that returned gloriously to their native land, and two figures of soldiers in a resting position and with a sword in their hands, representing civic and military values, respectively. The walls of the base are covered by bas-reliefs.

This monument was built at the idea of Captain General García Escámez during the Economic Command, after the Civil War.

We can find this monument right in the Plaza de España in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

It mainly consists of a giant tower at the top of which there is a viewpoint, and at the base a crypt, although now empty.

It is one of the Francoist vestiges that exist in Santa Cruz.
