The classicist house was built in 1778 on the site of the former Beguinage. The architect was C. van Leeuwen, who was the city architect. The symmetrical brick building has an entrance gate surmounted by a Louis XVI style window frame. This upper window is flanked by the statues of an old man and an old woman. The building is a national monument.
