The mill, in its current ruined state with its distinctive 30-meter-high silo tower, dates back to 1917. After German reunification, the Coschütz wheat mill ceased operations, and the buildings were left to decay. A flood in 2002 caused extensive damage, which was compounded by a fire in 2005.
