Since the 17th century, the area of the Luitpoldhains was part of the Dutzendteich terrain (see Volkspark Dutzendteich). Nuremberg, an important industrial location, hosted the Bavarian jubilee, provincial, industrial, trade and art exhibition in 1906 to mark its centenary of belonging to Bavaria. For this purpose, a park landscape was created north of the Dutzendteich on 700,000 square meters and buildings with Art Nouveau-like facades built. The northern part of the exhibition grounds was named "Luitpoldhain" in honor of the then Prince Regent Luitpold. The buildings erected for the exhibition were removed except for a lighthouse and the machine hall. The machine hall received the name Luitpoldhalle after the conversion to the event hall.Further information: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luitpoldhain_(N%C3%BCrnberg)
