The view of Uppsala Cathedral and the Fyrisån river unites two of the most defining elements of the cityscape in a particularly beautiful perspective. Above the Fyrisån, which flows calmly through the center, the two mighty towers of Uppsala Cathedral rise, widely visible above the city's rooftops. The green banks, bridges, and historic buildings along the river form an attractive foreground for the monumental Gothic cathedral. Especially during a walk along the Fyrisån, new perspectives constantly open up on the cathedral and one of Uppsala's most characteristic panoramas.
