The Sten Sture Monument, also known as Sturen på Kronåsen, is a bronze sculpture group created by Carl Milles, unveiled on February 13, 1925, in Uppsala, Sweden, with work beginning in 1902. The idea for the monument originated from Uppsala's student union in 1871, with a competition announced in 1901, in which Milles participated, eventually winning despite initial setbacks. The monument's completion faced delays due to funding issues and debates over its location, finally installed after nearly 25 years, marking a significant success for Milles and earning him national acclaim.
